Chapter 1: A beginning
Chapter Text
The sun was setting in the horizon, the air felt cold and uncomfortable against Valentine’s skin as he walked home completely humiliated.
He clenched his hands and kept his head down in shame as he walked through the dark streets of the normie town. The blood-damn smell that covered his body along with the horrid liquid that was staining his clothes were starting to hurt his senses in more ways than one
. He came to finish a job, a simple fucking task he should’ve completed centuries ago, and you know what he got in return? A broken ego and being covered in a horrible smelling liquid which could make you even vomit when being in a 10 feet distance of it.
Valentine went into an alley and sat down on the floor, he didn’t even care about how dirty his tailored pants would get, he’s already stinking worse than a damn wereskunk dipped in garbage and going through a pile of smelly socks.. He hugged his knees up to his chest and simply gritted his teeth in anger. “She couldn’t have just fallen into my spell could she?” He huffed and glared at the chipped brick wall in front of him.
“Maybe if you had stopped fooling around and actually made an effort into filling up her heart, none of this would have happened” A cloud spoke up beside him as the other two snickered. Valentine glared up at the cloud and gritted his teeth together before replying, “Yea well maybe if you weren’t stuck to me like gum 24/7 she would have found my actions more romantic and actually fallen for the trap.” He yelled at all of them with eyes full of anger.
“Don’t blame us for not following our instructions. We told you it was a bad idea to got to that party cause they’ll find a way to ruin your plan, but you said otherwise” Another cloud spoke up mockingly which made valentine try swatting them away, which worked for a few seconds before they reappeared in front of him.
“Oh shut up you dang.. you–OH JUST SHUT UP WILL YOU? You never told me this could happen! I was simply trying to accelerate the process of filling up her heart” He clenched up the fabric of his pants in his fist as he swatted the clouds away.
The trio of clouds simply spoke up, “Just admit that, you loooost!” They harmonized at the end and laughed at Valentine before disappearing. Valentine clenched the fabric of his pants once more in anger as he felt his chest and throat burn. He swallowed harshly and just felt bloody tears blur his vision.
He heard shuffling in the trash bins a few feet away from him which scared him to life. He stood up and stumbled back into the wall, he held a hand to his chest and was met with two glowing eyes in the darkness. A black cat walked out of the shadows behind the trash can and sat down in front of him, tilting its head and meowing out at him. Valentine’s face fell and rolled his eyes, his body relaxed and he looked around making sure no one saw that before sitting down and sighing into his hands in a hunched over position with his elbows on his knees.
He felt the cat come up to him and slide into his lap, he simply flinched and tensed up, straightening his posture and a large grimace on his face. “Ew.”
Valentine blurted out and pushed the cat out of his lap, standing up and dusting himself off before walking out of the alley and leaving the cat sitting alone in that dark corner. He saw the cat quickly run beside him from the corner of his eye which made him groan in annoyance. He tried shooing and swatting the cat away frustrated. The cat simply kept being next to him and simply meowing.
Valentine heard a shout behind him which made him tense up quickly and whip his head around, “Gabby!!” A dark figure in a black hoodie covering his face yelled out. Valentine simply looked at a reflective window across him and panicked, he quickly ran away and made a sharp turn to a random street.
He looked around before trying to turn into a bat, he failed in doing so which made terrified and cursed under his shaky breath. He had heard the normie yell out something at him as they took that same corner and tried talking to him. Valentine only shrieked and ran as fast as he could away from the normie.
It was probably hours later when Valentine finally got home and fiddled with his hands nervously, standing in front of the front door. Valentine still had not told his mother about his failure at stealing Draculaura’s heart. He held his breath and clenched his fists in anxiety before pushing open the front door. He looked around and let out a breath of relief when he saw that his mother wasn’t there.
He shut the door behind him softly and quickly went up the stairs up to his room. He made an immediate turn to his bathroom and practically tore his clothes off his body and walked into his shower, shutting the door and turning on the water. His hand ran through his hair and he shook his head a bit, grabbing the loofah, adding soap, and practically tearing off his skin from how hard he was scrubbing the thing across his body to get rid of the stupid smell. His eyes widened a bit and he angrily threw the loofah to the wall when the smell wouldn’t leave. He looked down and let the water run down his body, his breathing was rushed and shaky with a mixture of anger and disgust. He grumbled a bit and remembered how he wasn’t able to turn into a bat. His hand went into his mouth as he thought, his fingers grazed his sharp fangs before letting his hand fall to his side and simply closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling of the water running down his back.

Valentine combed his hair in front of the mirror, he ran a hand through his hair before letting out a deep sigh and going over to sleep in his coffin. He laid down and crossed his arms, he simply stayed in that position for a few minutes before reaching over his desk to grab his icoffin.
He opened his icoffin and scrolled through Critter for a while. He simply sulked in his coffin while watching whatever came on his page. A post from someone caught his attention, it was a guy with dark chocolate skin and a mole on the right side of his upper lip, his eyes widened for a moment before holding his breath as he felt his face warm up, he sat up from his coffin and looked around, clenching his icoffin in his hands.
He stood up and went to change the temperature of his room, it was awfully warm in here.. He looked down at his icoffin and sucked in another breath, his chest felt heavy and he looked away from his icoffin before peeking back it. He bit the inside of his mouth and quickly went to the guy’s profile.
He clicked the most recent post, a picture of him with a girl holding a drink and winking at the camera. His eyes squinted at the girl and rolled his eyes before staring at the guy more, he was wearing heavy eyeliner with some bright purple eyeshadow and some piercings decorating his face like it was meant to be. Valentine simply admired the way the light fell on his dark brown skin, the sun made his skin look like it was glowing. He admired how the freckles on his shoulders looked like delicate stars. The guy’s face looked like it was sculpted by the gods..
Valentine had completely stalked the guy’s profiles the whole night. He told himself that he admired the guy’s style and aesthetic. He had also learned how the guy had a sister… a victim he could use for his advantage.
Valentine planned a whole plan to gain his powers back and take the crown again. He was going to come back to monster high and make sure they regretted ever humiliating a Valentine.. He did anything he could to get rid of the smell to make sure he could attract some random girl to regain his powers. He dressed up all nicely and made sure he looked good, spraying some cologne to try and mask the stench. He took out a parasol from his closet before leaving the house and walking over to the normie town. He hid his face with some sunglasses and simply looked around.
His eyes caught a girl sitting down on a bench. He hummed in satisfaction before walking up to her. A shiver ran down his spine, as if not being able to control his body, he looked away from the girl and his eyes caught a familiar figure. His eyes widened as he saw the same guy whom he was stalking on social media earlier. He was looking away with a fan in his right hand until his head turned to Valentine and he seemed to simply stare, the guy moved the fan from his right hand to his left hand and started fanning himself. The guy seemed to give Valentine a look before turning his head and switching the fan to his right hand and closing it. He was passing his fan from hand to hand and huffing.
Valentine felt a pang in his chest but simply looked back at the girl and went over to her. Valentine stood in front of her and gently grabbed her hand, kissing the back of her hand softly and looking up at her through his sunglasses with a seductive look. He could already feel himself growing stronger with this chick’s love. He sat right next to her and started off boldly by flirting with her. The girl was clearly loving the attention and sat with him for a few minutes before he led her into a random alley. He dropped his parasol once he was in the shadows and grabbed her, pushing her against a wall, he started kissing her softly. He could start to feel a bit dizzy as her hands grabbed at his shoulders and ran her hands through his hair. He gripped her waist a bit harder and put his knee between her legs, hoisting her up and letting her legs wrap around his waist. They made out softly, some moans and wet kissing being heard through the quiet alley.
He pulled away from her lips to kiss her jaw, his mouth left soft kisses down her jaw to her shoulder softly but harsh at the same time. He stopped at her pulse and opened his mouth, ready to bite the girl who was moaning his name and gripping at his hair. He bit down at her neck in a quick motion and quickly covered her mouth to muffle any screams she let out. He sucked her body dry until she was out of blood. He threw her body to the floor and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand when he was done.
Valentine grabbed his parasol and opened it, resting it on his shoulder before leaving the alley and walking away innocently, he was more energetic and had a soft smug smile on his face. His gaze went to some store windows, his steps were kept elegant and he kept his head held high. His thoughts went back to the guy and how he handled his fan, another shiver ran down his spine, with no control over his body, he turned his head to look back.
His eyes widened when he saw the same guy once again, he wiped his lips with the back of his hand to make sure there was no lipstick on him. The guy held up some keys over to him, chuckling softly, he spoke up “You dropped your keys..” he had a cat around his neck like a fur boa, that made valentine raise his eyebrow but he looked at the keys and patted his pockets. Quickly snatching the keys he muttered a thank you and looked back at the cat. The cat was the same black cat he met last night.. He grimaced and glared at the furry fella. The black cat was glaring back at Valentine and hissed over, clearly still mad at him for leaving her. The guy petted his cat, worried for why she was hissing. “I'm sorry, she doesn’t usually act like this..”
Valentine only grumbled in return and locked eyes with the guy. They stared at each other for a few seconds until the guy broke eye contact, the guy simply walked away and shoved his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket. Valentine only looked at the ground and thought for a few moments before looking up and glancing at a girl. He let out a deep sigh and bit the side of his cheek before straightening his posture and making sure he looked tidy before walking up to the girl. A few cups of blood from a girl from earlier won’t be satisfying him for the entire day..He simply needed more to satisfy his needs. And he won’t be ashamed to take a bite of random girls every now and then to do so. He walked up to the girl and cleared his throat, staring at her with those seductive eyes. The cycle is simply repeating itself.

Chapter Text
Valentine was slumped on the floor of his bedroom surrounded by some supplies and a big board in front of him.
Snip.
Snip
Snip
He cut out some pictures he had of Draculaura with some red scissors. “Stupid..Dramatic.. Crybaby..” He spat out insults, scribbling black markers all over her face in the cutouts and taping them to the board.
A plan to ruin her life has to be made and it has to be made NOW. Every single piece of sanity was being ripped away from him the more that he thought of her .
Those stupid pigtails. That fanged smile. The classic pink she always carries in her outfits. She was the embodiment of femininity. There was nothing else on his mind other than her, and he hated it. He doesn’t even like her romantically, so he doesn’t know why he’s so obsessed with her. Maybe it’s because she ruined his life? That should be it. If only he wasn't so stupid to accept that birthday party invite. That whole stink incident would’ve been avoided.. But he was desperate.
“Honey!! Come down to eat!” His mother called from downstairs in a soft tone. He grumbled and looked over at his door. “NOT NOW MOM! IM BUSY, LEAVE ME ALONE” , he screamed over at his mom and rolled his eyes before going back to his obsession.
Three knocks were heard on his door but Valentine made no move to answer or even acknowledge it. Valentine’s mother opened the door softly and had a worried look on her face when she saw her son cutting up millions of pictures of this one girl. “Girlfriend of yours..? Oh! Are you making her a board of pictures of her as a small present?” His mother asked, ignoring how the pictures had sharpie scribbles all over them and asked nervously while still keeping her emotions in check.
“Ew, no.” Valentine responded in a snarky way and kept on cutting up pictures. “Leave me alone, I'm busy.” Not once did he look at her.
A soft “oh..” left his mother’s mouth in worry, concern was clear on her face for her son. “Well could you come down to eat? Please? Just this once..” Her voice shook a bit and grew more quiet as she talked.
“I already told you no, mom!! I’m not hungry!” Valentine threw the scissors and paper down, whipping his head over to his mom; Starting to glare at her
Silence struck over the room. His mom’s gaze lowered and nodded softly. “I’m just worried for you. You know I want the best for you, kier..”
Valentine rolled his eyes and grumbled. “Whatever , Mom. Don’t call me that.” He huffed and grabbed the scissors again to finish cutting all the pictures of Drac. His ears flickered a bit when he heard his door close. But he did not care one bit about that. He was too focused on all those pictures of Draculaura. He simply NEEDED his heart, it was driving him insane.
Throwing down the scissors, he reached over to his left and yanked a sharpie. Taking off the cap and throwing it down, he scribbled all over the pictures he had cut out.
His plan was so simple. He would go to Monster high, locate Laura, confront her, hypnotize her once more, and steal her heart! So simple, even a baby could do it! Or at least that is what's on his mind.. But he will have to get stronger before going into Monster high and taking her heart! He will need to regain his charisma before doing all of that.
Valentine stood up and yawned softly, his hand raising up to cover his mouth. He walked over into his closet and looked through his outfits for the next day. He desperately needed to go out to the mall and get some new clothes; all of these were sooooo last season. He has barely worn it once and he’s already sick of the stripes in one of his vests. Scrolling past every outfit, he stopped and focused on one outfit before scrolling past it and continued looking through his entire closet. He groaned all annoyed and stomped out of his closet. He walked past the mess on his floor and threw himself on the bed, rolling over and into a spread-out position. Valentine tiredly sighed and thought back on how his mom wanted him to go down to eat. He let out a snarky scoff and began chuckling at how pathetic it looked. As if he’d actually go down and waste his precious time eating with his mother. He yanked the blanket with his left hand around his waist in a swift movement and let out a tired soft sigh.
He really didn’t want to think of Laura anymore, but it was nearly impossible… It was exhausting how much he thought of her. But it would all be worth it when he wipes that stupid fanged smile off her face and breaks her heart for good. The look on her face will be hilarious. Her friends would be pissed and that stupid Wolf if a boyfriend she has would know how much better he is than him. The thought of all of that brought a smile to his face. He closed his eyes softly and began simply picturing all of that over and over again.
He seemed so sure of how everything was going to play out..
When in reality he had no clue what he’d do. It was way easier to think about his success than actually accomplishing it.

Chapter Text
After waking up and getting ready for his day, He did finally accept the fact that making a whole plan to win the crown once again is waaayyyy harder than it sounds.
The simple plan looked way better in his fantasies.. But actually writing it down and making plans about it makes the flaws stand out. Not only that but there were millions of loopholes.
The plan needed to be perfect if he wanted to succeed. Knowing the ghouls.. They’ll try saving the day as always
Putting the plan making to the side, he decided to go outside for some fresh air.
He needed a break from all the plan-making to clear his head. That could open his mind towards even better ideas for the plan!
He stood in front of the dark red and black mirror that had little heart designs engraved into the wood. Staring into the missing reflection in the mirror, applying sunscreen. He made sure to apply a bit on his ears and the little skin that was exposed from his high collar and brushed out his dark hair
Exiting the bathroom and shutting the door behind him, he walked over to his messy desk filled with papers and unread books on the side. He simply grabbed his wallet and keys, pocketing them
Turning around and doing a last outfit check in his mirror, smoothing out some last wrinkles and adjusting his vest, he walked out of his room.
Valentine walked down the long stairway leading to the bottom hallway of his house, The top corner of the stairway filled with cobwebs. The old stairs creaked under his weight.
Going out into the hall, he passed the kitchen where a small note lay on the table. The note he was supposed to take before leaving to buy groceries.
It's not that he forgot it…
He intentionally left the note alone. He wasn’t in the mood to get groceries for his mom, sure he’d get in trouble but it's not as if he cared much.
He grabbed his parasol, as he walked out the two front doors, shuffling a bit to open it up before shutting the door behind him and leaving the house completely.
The parasol was an old ,Victorian walking stick type of parasol. Black and blood red lace surrounded the design. The stick had some heart designs here and there. The parasol was given to him decades ago.. It was honestly surprising that it was still intact..
Valentine hummed a small tune as he walked down the cobblestone path leading out of his house and into the woods. The rocks below his heels crunched under the weight of his body as he was on his way to the normie town.
He held his parasol over his head as the soft sun fell upon him. The leaves of the trees did a good job covering him from the sun, but some rays did end up passing through. He had nothing interesting to do in the normie town so he was just going to walk around. Maybe take a bite of someone here and there, then go back to walking around the town.
____________
Valentine softly huffed in annoyance as he shrunk below the parasol to hide from the glaring sun. His hands squeezing the parasol like his life depended on it. He was not in the mood to get sunburnt. His palms were felt clammy from how tight he was grabbing at the parasol
Earlier this morning, the sun wasn’t as harsh on him, it was the perfect weather for a walk around town. But now it just felt like the sun had something against him.
Those soft rays turned into glaring, heated rays above him. He could practically feel his skin melting off his bones from how hot it was!! He felt overheated in the high collar shirt he was currently wearing. The temperature felt completely unbearable..
He sucked in a harsh breath when he saw how a few rays managed to flicker on his clothes, near his hand and wrist. He nearly felt his soul leave his body when that happened. He began feeling a bit lightheaded and heard a ringing in his ears. He tried shaking it off and hurried down the cobblestone path.
His mind kept on racing as he finally reached the normie town and walked on the sidewalk in search of a place he could go into.
He felt himself getting frustrated as he looked around and saw how every store on that street was closed. It must've been a dumb holiday, that might've been the reason for the stores being closed.. But that didn’t stop him from feeling annoyed
If he had the ability to sweat like the normies here, he would’ve been drenched by now. The heat kept on getting more unbearable by the second..
He felt like he was going to pass out any second now from the heat..
His breath turned ragged and steps grew unsteady as he felt overwhelmed by every single one of his senses..
He kept on trying to hurry down the streets, sharply turning the corner he looked around and felt hope go through his body as he saw the big “Open!!” sign on the window. His eyes shined and he nearly threw the door open, shuffling his way inside.
An immediate calm rushed through his body as he felt the sweet air conditioning of the store on his overheated skin, he still had to take a few seconds to keep himself steady and made sure he was alright. He let out a big long sigh he was holding from all the stress.
He really thought for a short moment that he was going to burn up in the sun, that that was his end. Thank ghoulness..
He shut his parasol and carried it under his arm
Valentine took one last shaky breath before taking a few steps forward and looking around. The first thing he noticed was how there was no one in here..
Second, was how it was… a journal shop?..
There were various inks, pens, and journals around the shelves. The place had this comforting aura that had peace and quiet. The journals on the massive shelves were organized by a rainbow-like pattern. It also went from Biggest to the smallest pocket journals. There were hundreds of designs everywhere, he was a bit fascinated by it all.
A soft hum left him as he walked around, a fanged smile reaching his face.
He walked into a different aisle and saw what felt like hundreds over hundreds types of ink. Even the inks were arranged in color. He stopped in front of the different shades of red. The bottles ranged from big bottles to small ones once again.
It seemed like the person running this place was extremely organized..
He reached over to grab one small glass bottle of warm pink ink. Or at least, that's what the name said.
From the corner of his eyes, he saw a green hand reach out to one of the ink bottles right next to him. That small action made his heart race and body flinch harshly.
Quickly whipping his head to see who it was, he found….
Nothing..
Absolutely nothing was standing next to him.
A bit of fear ran through his body as he looked around the empty aisle.. Again, no one was there but him. He let out a shaky breath and shook his head a bit, deciding to blame that on the heat he experienced earlier.
Maybe a bit of heat was still stuck in his system?.. Though he knew better than that..
After some quick thinking, he quickly shook the thought away and decided to walk around the stores some more to look around.
He ended up picking a brand new journal and that warm pink ink bottle he had in his hand earlier.
The journal was clawsome in every single way you could imagine, at least he thought like that. The journal had a dark brown leather cover with some hearts decorating it. It was smooth to the touch and was the most perfect size.
After his picking, he walked up to the register. A bit of surprise ran through him when there was no one there.
A few minutes passed and he began feeling a bit awkward standing there with no one there. He looked around and leaned over the counter to try and see if there was someone at the back, maybe the cashier was on a break!.. but again, there was no one in that store.
Out of nowhere, he felt a small breath at the side of his neck that made the hairs on his neck stand up. His breath caught as he flinched and whipped his head back.
As he turned around, he swore he saw green skin before in a quick blink, blurred back to a normal normie.
A normie stood a few feet away from him
Nowhere near where he felt breath at the back of his neck, which was incredibly weird. The guy was the exact same guy on the Critter and the day before in public.
Hair styled in a high ponytail with some front pieces left wild. A leather black jacket with a few pins on it and some spikes. He had a small smile on his calm face.
They held eye contact for a few awkward seconds that felt like forever before Valentine looked away, all flushed and cleared his throat.
The guy moved behind the counter and leaned on it all relaxed. His lidded eyes with black eyeshadow drifted down to Valentine’s items and hummed in what seemed like approval before wordlessly checking him out.
Which felt like it literally as the guy’s eyes would observe him every now and then
Valentine nervously shuffled around and looked over at the guy’s namecard…
“Spencer Aldric.”
Valentine raised an eyebrow and looked away before the guy… Spencer?.. Caught him looking
As if on queue , Spencer’s eyes met Valentine's again and he spoke once more, “I saw you hiding from the sun as you walked in.” He laughed softly as he kept on being all relaxed and collected while Valentine’s mind was racing on how he could have possibly seen him when there was NO ONE here when he walked in.
“Don’t like it or something? Is that why you're so unusually pale?” he chuckled softly and crossed his arms on the counter, leaning forward a little. He had a raised studded eyebrow and a teasing look in his eyes.
Valentine panicked a bit and nodded quickly without thinking much ahead, “Uh yea!..” he cringed inwardly at how his voice cracked without the fake accent.
He cleared his throat and tried speaking out in a honeyed voice. “I….uhh–It’s a heat disorder!” he tried masking the panic on his face as he took the money out of his wallet and gave it to the normie. “I see…” The normie spoke curiously, clearly not buying that answer and being onto him.
The nor–Spencer.. Clearly caught onto the fact that Valentine never answered the question on why he was so pale
“Just…keep the change, darling.” He grabbed his stuff off the counter and quickly left, putting the journal and ink in his inner jacket pocket and opening his parasol as he exited the store.
His face immediately burned with complete embarrassment as he overthought the entire interaction. THE GUY WAS CHECKING HIM OUT!!... NOT ONLY THAT.. HE CALLED HIM DARLING BY HABIT!!.. HE ISN'T A GIRL.. HE SHOULDNT BE CALLING GUYS THAT. HE SHOULDNT BE CALLING HIM DARLING..
He bit the inside of his mouth anxiously as he walked back home. The sun was not as glaring as before, thankfully. He could feel the taste of iron as he kept on chewing on the inside of his cheek. He managed to stop himself before chewing any further and messing up his mouth.
The forest was quiet as he walked back to his house. The cobblestone continued to crunch under his boots. Then a nice bright daffodil at the side of the path caught his attention. Which was weird because he didn’t see it at first when he was walking by last time.
He decided to pick up the nice flower before going back on track to his house.
_________
Getting home, he shut the door behind him and put his parasol up.
“Kierr!.. Honey!” his mother called out from the kitchen in a sweet loving voice.
Valentine couldn't help but groan and roll his eyes in complete annoyance. He stomped his way to the kitchen doorway and glared at his mom standing there with the grocery list in her soft hands. The paper stained with age and slightly wrinkled in her grip.
“You went out? Why didn’t you get groceries?..” She softly spoke with a frown on her aged face as she looked at him. “I have asked you since last week to get them..”
Valentine huffed, rolling his eyes and shrugged a little. “Whatever, I forgot. I’ll get them some other day.”
He turned on his heel and was about to walk out of the kitchen before his mom called him again.
“Kierr! Hold up, I'm not done!..”
“Ughhhh WHAT NOW MOM?” He groaned in frustration, a headache already forming from hearing his mom’s annoying whines
“I.. nevermind… just wanted to tell you that I can get them next time i go out… dont wanna stress you or anything..” she murmured as she walked up to him and brushed a strand of his hair behind his ear. Her touch was cold against his skin. It sent a shiver down his spine.
He pulled back disgustedly and lightly nudged her hand away, walking over to the stairway leading up to his room. “Ya, whatever. Fine by me.” were the last words before he left his mom in the door of the kitchen, simply going up to his room.
As he got to his room, he slammed the door and simply took his jacket off, taking the journal and ink down, setting it on the messy table and sitting down, he ripped the plastic off the cover with his nails and opened the book, taking an ink calligraphy pen and writing down a date and entry before losing himself in the writing..
