Well, you could always volunteer to help (even people who can't program can test, and that's useful too). These are unpaid contributors we're talking about, who have a real life and bills to pay. Users stomping their foot are more likely to discourage them than to magically give them more free time to work on the platform.

The committee that deal with new features and the one that deals with international fandom day arent the same, so whining in the comments here, as you say, isn't really going to help because the committee you're whining to can't do anything about that feature.
You could always send a ticket, there's a link at the end of the page (the "technical support and feedback" button) and await an official response from the team.....
