Choi Beomgyu has lived a good life. He won't say it's perfect; there are some drawbacks to everything. Sure, he is rich, but his parents neglect him. Sure he's beautiful, but his best friend somehow shines more. Sure, life feels too much like a book, but what if it's actually a book? What if the world he's living in... is just the figment of some random person's imagination?
Weird things are happening to and around Beomgyu and he just wants answers. But while on the path to find what the world is, and who he himself is, will he end up finding himself and someone for him or will he end up being the sad loveless side character that readers pity?

Summary
At the farthest end of the pool, Yeonjun was floating with his elbows resting on the sides of the pool. He was looking straight at Taehyun with half-lidded eyes. Taehyun's breath hitched as he saw the golden tail swish under the water. It seemed to be glinting orange and red at the same time as it was gold. Yeonjun looked ethereal, unreal like Taehyun had seen before.
No amount of imagination could sum up to the actual sight of the older Phospha, whose gaze seemed to be burning right into Taehyun. He felt the blood rush to his face, he felt his skin on fire as he stood at the other end of the pool, frozen and watching– waiting.
"I know I'm beautiful, but I don't bite," Yeonjun said playfully, the corners of his lips curling into a smirk as Taehyun choked out a painful and embarrassed sound at that. "Unless you want me to? If so, I can bite really hard. How hard would you like?"

"Are you calling me a mistake?" Venom dropped from the older prince's words as he sprang up, left hand clutching tightly at his hip around the air where his sword was supposed to be. The familiar texture of leather usually helped him calm himself down but the lack of it only served to frustrate him more. Taehyun's head tilted to the right but his eyes were cold and sharp.
"Might as well," he answered and before Beomgyu could articulate any more words, Taehyun had turned upon his heel and walked out of the gazebo and down the cobblestoned path that led outside the gardens. The dark-haired boy watched him leave, feeling the thrum in his veins die as he realized just what had happened.
