Summary
A letter.Touya had left him a letter. It was too pitiful to be considered a letter, really. More of a note—a note, barely three lines long, by his bedside. It was all Hawks had left of him, besides the increasingly unreliable memories and the ragged shirt he found under their bed after everything was said and done.
It was written in a rush, that much is obvious from a glance. The paper has a faded logo in the top left corner, a sunrise and the illegible name of their old motel, encircled with a thin dotted line. One of the edges is ripped and rough from where it was hastily torn from the motel's complimentary notepad. Three shaky lines written smeared blue ink.
