Chapter Text
Jimin stares at Yoongi with shock, processing what he just heard. He looks at Yoongi, trying to figure out if the older man is joking. To his surprise, he realizes that Yoongi is serious.
“Can you cook?” Jimin asks as he leans against the counter.
“Yes.” Yoongi points to the hangover stew he just made.
With a hum, Jimin picks up a spoon and tries the stew. When he tastes the stew, his eyes instantly widen. “Okay. I’ll date you.”
“Cool.” Yoongi hums and nods.
The Present
“Is that really how you two started dating?” Hoseok looks at Yoongi and Jimin with surprise.
“Yeah.” Jimin chuckles as he looks at the man he loves. “I already had feelings for him, so dating him made sense. Eventually, he became my one and only love.”
“I fell in love with him the moment he yelled at me.” Yoongi lovingly smiles with a soft chuckle.
Nevermind. My Noona wouldn’t be happy with him. To be happy with Min Yoongi, you have to be Park Jimin. Hoseok softly smiles when he sees how happy Yoongi has become. He had always assumed that Min Yoongi could never smile or be happy.
“It’s really late,” Jisung mutters when he realizes what time it is.
“You’re right. Goodness. I wasn’t paying attention to the time.” Jimin murmurs as he looks at the time.
“I’d better head home.” Hoseok stands up and politely bows his head to Jimin and Yoongi. “Thank you for letting me have dinner with your family.”
“You should stay the night. It’s really late.” Jimin looks up at Hoseok with worry.
“I’m used to being out late.” Hoseok softly smiles at Jimin.
“Stay. It’s late.” Yoongi hums and gets up to clean the table. “There are plenty of rooms here.”
“I-”
“Sunbae, his breakfast is divine.” Jisung looks at Hoseok big-eyed, begging him to stay the night.
“Okay.” Hoseok chuckles as he gives in. “Thank you for letting me stay.” He smiles at Jimin with gratitude.
“Of course.” Jimin smiles with relief when Hoseok gives in. “Sungie, let him stay in the room across from yours.”
“Okay.” Jisung smiles with excitement and quickly leads Hoseok to the room he will be staying in. “Yoongi hyung bought this place after he and my Hyung started dating. He learned about Taehyung hyung and me, so he bought a place we could all fit in.” He explains as he walks toward the many bedrooms.
“He’s kind and thoughtful.” Hoseok hums and looks around the beautiful home, a stark contrast to the cold penthouse Yoongi used to live in.
“He really is.” Jisung nods in agreement. “Here’s your room for the night.” He stops in front of a door and opens it for Hoseok. “It should already have everything you’ll need for the night, even pajamas.”
“Thank you, Jisung.” Hoseok softly smiles at the younger man.
Jisung shyly smiles and nods before scurrying off to find his older brother. Once Jisung is gone, Hoseok walks into the room and shuts the door. He quietly sighs and goes to the bathroom to get ready for bed. As he gets ready, he hears Jisung and Jimin laugh at something together. He smiles because their laughter is almost identical.
When morning arrives, Hoseok wakes up and gets ready for the day. Once he is ready, he leaves the bedroom and makes his way to the breakfast room. As he walks toward the breakfast room, he hears Jisung happily telling Yoongi about a show he has been watching. When he sees the way Yoongi is listening to Jisung with a soft smile, he thinks about the times he was around the older man.
The man Hoseok remembers was always closed off and distant.
“I’m so hungry, Hyung,” Jisung whines as he leans against the counter.
“I know.” Yoongi chuckles and checks on the steamed buns. “Hoseok, did you sleep well?” He asks and glances at the man awkwardly standing in the distance.
“Yes. Thank you for letting me stay here last night.” Hoseok quickly bows his head in thanks.
“There’s no need to thank me. We kept you late and didn’t watch the time.” Yoongi hums and pulls the bamboo container with steamed buns out of the steamer. “We’re having pork baozi, century egg congee, jian bing, douhua, and soy milk. Is there anything else you want?” He asks as he carries the dishes to the breakfast table.
“That’s a lot,” Hoseok mutters, his stomach growling in hunger.
“Sungie eats like he’s starving, so I hope it’s enough.” Jimin chuckles as he walks over to the breakfast table.
“Hyung.” Jisung whines in embarrassment.
While Jimin, Yoongi, Jisung, and Hoseok enjoy their breakfast, Seokjin and Namjoon stand outside the conference room doors. Seokjin takes a deep breath and holds his husband’s hand.
“It’s going to be okay, Hyung. I’m going to be with you the whole time.” Namjoon softly hums as he presses a kiss on Seokjin’s forehead.
“Thank you, Joon.” Seokjin smiles and kisses his husband’s lips.
When the doors to the conference room open, Seokjin squeezes Namjoon’s hand and enters. The reporters all quickly notice that the two men are holding hands.
As Seokjin walks into the conference room, he notices his little brother standing in the back of the room with an encouraging smile. Seokjin instantly smiles when he sees his little brother. Seeing the smile on his older brother’s face, Jungkook sighs with relief.
Once Seokjin stands behind the podium, he takes a deep breath and addresses everyone. “Good morning. I have called this press conference to make an announcement.” He looks at the many cameras and grips the podium. “I am married. My husband is Professor Kim Namjoon.” He announces, causing the reporters to quickly begin typing their reports. “I am also resigning from the corporation. I am starting my own company. I am separating from the family. They have been trying to force me into marriage because my marriage to my husband is not recognized in our country. I will not marry anyone else, and I will pave my own path with my husband. That is all.” Seokjin bows before quickly leaving with his husband.
As the doors shut behind them, Seokjin releases his pent-up breath and looks at his husband. He softly smiles when he sees the pride sparkling in his husband’s beautiful eyes.
“You are so brave.” Namjoon pulls his husband into his arms and holds him close.
“Thank you, Joonie.” Seokjin mutters as he buries himself in his husband’s protective embrace.
“Hyung,” Jungkook calls out as he walks over to his older brother and brother-in-law. “You did such a good job.”
“Thank you.” Seokjin smiles and looks at his little brother. “Thank you for coming.”
“Of course. You’re my Hyung.” Jungkook smiles as he looks at his older brother with pride. “I’m sure your parents are fuming.”
“I’m sure.” Seokjin chuckles and shakes his head.
“Seokjin hyung! Namjoon hyung!” Taehyung runs over with a bright smile and two large bouquets of stunning flowers. “So sorry that I’m late! The flower shop was crazy busy.” He grins and shoves the bouquets against Seokjin’s and Namjoon’s chests. “Congratulations!”
“Thank you, Taehyung.” Seokjin softly smiles at the sweet teacher.
“Aren’t you worried about the cameras?” Namjoon asks as he sniffs the flowers.
“Nope. I don’t care about them.” Taehyung happily hums and leans against Jungkook.
While they talk, Seokjin’s phone rings. He answers it when he sees Yoongi’s number. “Hey.”
“Hey. I saw your announcement.” Yoongi mutters as he worries about his friend.
“Yeah. I was getting tired of my parents constantly hounding me to marry someone else.” Seokjin explains as he leans against his husband.
“Congratulations. We should celebrate.” Yoongi smiles with relief when he hears the happiness in his friend’s voice.
“We definitely should.” Seokjin quickly agrees.
“Is Jeon with you?” Yoongi asks as he takes a quick glance at Jisung.
“Yes,” Seokjin responds, wondering why Yoongi is asking about his little brother.
“What about his boyfriend?”
“He is.”
“How is he?”
“He’s good. He seems really happy.” Seokjin hums as he looks at Taehyung, who is excitedly telling Jungkook about a new trail that opened at one of his favorite national parks.
“Good.” Yoongi softly smiles and nods.
“What’s going on?” Seokjin asks as he steps away from his family to talk to Yoongi.
“My boyfriend is best friends with Taehyung,” Yoongi responds and watches his boyfriend tackle Jisung.
“Okay? So why are you worried about Taehyung?”
“My boyfriend’s little brother caused some problems. I was just making sure Taehyung is doing well.” Yoongi explains and chuckles when Jisung shrieks.
“Oh. I see. He seems to be doing well. He was a little down about something last night, but my husband helped him.” Seokjin hums as he watches his husband excitedly talk about rare animals found only on a certain mountain.
“Good. I’m glad everyone is doing well.” Yoongi softly hums. “Jiwoo’s little brother is at my place right now.”
“Really?” Seokjin gasps with shock, getting his husband’s attention.
“Yeah. He knows my boyfriend’s little brother. They seem close.” Yoongi murmurs as he watches Jisung hide behind Hoseok as Jimin chases him with a wax strip.
“Small world,” Seokjin mutters and gives his husband a reassuring smile.
“Let me know when you have time to celebrate.” Yoongi hums as he prepares to end the call.
“Sounds good. I’ll see you later.”
“See you.”
Once the call ends, Seokjin walks over to his husband and holds his hand. “Yoongi called. He was checking on us.”
“Oh. How is he?” Namjoon asks as he intertwines their fingers.
“He’s good. Jiwoo’s little brother is at his place. He’s apparently close to Yoongi’s boyfriend’s little brother.”
“Who’s close to Sung?” Taehyung looks at Seokjin with curiosity.
“Yoongi’s ex-girlfriend’s little brother.”
“Whoa.” Taehyung’s eyes widen with surprise.
“Yeah.” Seokjin chuckles and nods.
As they leave the building, they are stopped by Seokjin’s parents. “You! This is all your fault!” The father shouts as he points an accusatory finger at Jungkook.
“You!” Taehyung shrieks, instantly recognizing the man who abused Jungkook. “You monster!”
Everyone stills when they hear Taehyung. They all look at him with surprise as he storms over to Jongsu. “You fucking monster! How could you?! You’re the fucking piece of shit that cheated on your own wife! You’re the one to blame! How dare you hurt a small child for your own sins?!” He shoves his finger in the much taller man's face as he continues to seethe. “And trying to sell your oldest son to the highest bidder is beyond atrocious! He’s a married man!”
“Who the fuck are you?” Jongsu growls as he looks at Taehyung with anger.
“Someone who has every thought of dragging your dead parents out of their urns and making them discipline you better because they clearly didn’t, you fucking spoiled old hag!” Taehyung shouts as he stands face-to-face with the man who terrifies others.
Jungkook’s eyes are wide and filled with awe as he watches his boyfriend shout at the man who abused him. As Taehyung shouts at his father, the little boy in Jungkook begins to heal.
“How dare you come here! You are such a disgrace! An absolute disgrace! You should be embarrassed! What grown ass man uses his strength against small children and abuses them?! I know for a fact that all three of your children were born very unlucky to be born to such a horrid, horrid, weakling of a man like you!”
Jungkook’s and Seokjin’s older sister quietly gasps as she watches Taehyung berate her father. She had always hated the man who used her mother.
“And sending a child to another country and forcing him to do conversion therapy is just shameful! He was a child! How dare you!”
As Taehyung shouts at Kim Jongsu, the reporters gather and film the interaction. They are all surprised that Chairman Kim has not lashed out or retaliated against the younger man.
“I hope you know that you’re an embarrassment and a disgrace to our country.” Taehyung hisses before turning around and marching over to Jungkook. “I’ve been wanting to do that for a while.” He whispers to himself as he grins with happiness.
“Well, I guess that’s it then.” Seokjin hums and smiles at Taehyung with gratitude.
“We’re going to be late for our lunch reservation.” Namjoon wraps his arm around his husband’s waist and quickly escorts him to their waiting vehicle before Jongsu can recover from Taehyung’s anger.
Instantly, social media and the news are filled with speculations about the identity of the man who shouted at Chairman Kim. The clip of Taehyung is shared over and over as people try to find out who he is.
