Summary
Something that was well-known amongst those whom it concerned was that Robotnik hated parties. And that meant that if someone were to drag the doctor to said party, it would be an absolute disaster. So thankfully, after quite a few times of Walters having been witness to quite a few spectacles and subsequently not wanting to deal with the massive tantrum, they never invited him.
That was, of course, except for the ones they couldn’t avoid.

Summary
Agent Stone is a field agent, and a damn good one, until a mission gone sour leaves him with debilitating injuries. There's not much call for an agent who can't even hold a gun anymore, let alone use it. His career, and his life, are effectively over.
Until Commander Walters gives him a new assignment.
Doctor Robotnik is not a nice man. If he's not ignoring Stone, he's screaming at him. To him, all other humans are defective, and Stone's no different. Which, compared to the way all his doctors and higher-ups treat Stone now, is... oddly reassuring.

Stone has to ask Walters for another bodyguard and Walter asks if it’s because Robotnik’s problematic behavior and Stone has to explain while beating around the bush that he still wants Robotnik as his full time assistant, however Stone doesn’t want to ever think there’s a chance that Robotnik could ever get hurt, so that’s why Stone just wants to change his job description from bodyguard to assistant.

Summary
Two loose canons, two gigantic headaches, and two plans that needed to be made. The military could no longer deal with the consistent fall out and problems Dr. Robtonik and Agent Stone caused, and it was now Commander Walters' job to deal with it. There was no good option, neither of these men would back down, and they were both too valuable in their own ways.
Or
Commander Walters thinks that assigning two out of control alphas to work together will lead to one of them ending the other, solving the problem without getting his own hands dirty. If only that would have worked.
