Atzi had done well.
This rain, the thunder, and lightning, the crashing waves. It was all for her. It was a gift from Dios Tempestoso to her. Something in her sparked. No scolding from Diosa Luna was going to hold her back from her storm.
She slid open the sliding door that led to the deck and was immediately attacked by a gust of wind. A shriek left her lip and she ran out. Marino let out a gasp of alarm but didn’t follow her.
Atzi ran across the deck, holding out her arms. Rain droplets fell on her and she twirled around. She was dressed in the large skirt she’d worn the day she was named one of the potential Sunbearers, and it spun around her as she danced around. She kicked at puddles and held out her tongue.
