Lenore agrees to help her brother form a writing group. She plans to leave after the first meeting and not look back on the 'nerd life', but something keeps drawing her back, week after week. Maybe it's the fact that the stories these nerds are writing are actually pretty interesting. Maybe it's the new friends that she's found in Oscar and Mary Ann. Maybe it's that weird kid with the goggles that she keeps sitting next to.
The more Lenore thinks about it, the more she realizes that it's all three.
Pretty soon, she finds herself becoming closer and closer to these authors. Oscar Wilde wants her help costuming the play, and Charlotte Bronte wants some help planning decorations for the dance. Everyone wants her help, but she's not complaining. She always seems to get to work with that goggles kid, and that just makes it all even better.
