Lucius was more and more furious with all of them, his mother, father, uncle and Acacius. The senators were already at the top of his killing list. He stared into General's brown sad eyes and chuckled sadly.

It's a bit of a romantic-comedy-drama stuff because Marcus doesn't know that he traveled to 2025, LMAO poor baby (and you know I'm a hopeless romantic). I'll explain in more detail in chapters why he ended up here and what led him to meet the reader, but I'm avoiding spoilers. Ten years after Caracalla and Geta were dethroned and disappeared, Marcus Acacius and Lucilla are driven out of Rome into Barbaricum where they find that Geta is very much alive. He is a changed man and Acacius and Lucilla plot as to how they might use him to help Lucius reclaim control of Rome as they learn about him and adjust to living in a barbarian land. But Geta has different priorities and desires now.
Alternate universe, big canon divergence, wherein Geta, Acacius, and Lucilla survived, while Caracalla died. Lucius and Macrinus survived, too, and continue to fight for control of Rome.
Chapter 26 is up! Geta thinks about the two people he loves most.
