Strands of Starlight crossover, but you don’t need to have read the books. They’re very obscure and were only printed in the 80s and early 90s. Basically, Elves live among humans, helping and healing with their Goddess-given power. The blood can wake up in normal humans if they are near Elves too long and have a compatible personality with Elves. Their Goddess is called Elthia Calasouive and the Elves can go to her in their mind-starfield.
The plot, basically: The Madrigals are Elves, created when the Earth was created to help humanity, but they’re slowly fading. If they can’t find a way to renew their numbers, they may go extinct forever. Unless humans, with their unique and near-magical ability to change and embrace changes can help them find meaning again.

One morning, the family's awoken by Abuela, who seems joyous and happier than ever.
"There are three new doors!" She explained, before leading them to a new part of casita, one with a wall that showed three would be doors, letting out white sparkles and magic.

Encanto has a main focus point - saving the miracle, and fixing the bond between Mirabel Madrigal and her Abuela. However, the movie creates such interesting characters that each have such little screentime or depth behind the main plot, that it makes you wonder what goes on in their life that we're not seeing? And most importantly, what goes on after the movie ends?
Madrigal Milestones explores that, by taking you through important points in the life of the Madrigal grandkids (and Bruno) to let you see beyond the confines of the movie screen and overshadowing main character business, at least my rendition of it.
A fair warning, as far as I've got planned so far, this story consists mostly of content related to my created partners for each characters single by the end of the movie. If that's not your thing, then I would most likely skip this story. I'm a sappy, single, cliche romance enjoyer, so you'll have to forgive me for this one. -

Even more so, his plot is much bigger than the Encanto itself, especially cause it links to Abuela Alma's past.

Too bad Casita has the same idea about Alma. Casita has watched her Velita get bullied and neglected for ten years, all while raising the little boy her Tios dropped on her. Casita feels the green rat man's pain and isolation. She knows she has to do something. She's dying, so she asks Pedro for help one last time.
Casita certainly hopes Mirabel, Bruno, and Antonio will be happy in her new location. She even made them special rooms! Better than her old rooms! If only that old lady could stop messing around and trying to get her Madrigals back.

Casita falls, their Gifts still work, but they can't control them. Mirabel and Bruno are blamed and decide to leave with Antonio.
Latest chapter: Mostly fluff, with Mirabel and everyone enjoying being together again in their new Casita.

After being gifted one too many therapy books, and told she could come with them anytime she wished. Mirabel finally sees her family isn't doing well. But she is knowledgeable enough to know she can't fix this herself, they have to do it. So she secretly tells Antonio that she plans to go on a pilgrimage out of Encanto, he gets her to stay until his gift ceremony. And before the dawn lights the sky Mirabel spirits herself away to go on her journey to heal the unseen wounds of being seen as the worthless one has caused and find genuine love along the way.

Bruno Madrigal is a shy man. A few months outside of Casita's walls hasn't changed that. In an effort to slowly integrate back into the community of Encanto, he returns to one of his pre-hiding habits, reading at Café de Libros, a combination shop, café, and bibliotheca for the town run by Elena Pascual, an assertive 30 something with an adventurous streak, a deep love for books and her inherited businesses, and an unfiltered temper. The two strike up a long suspected romance thanks to the interference a butcher and a parrot, but soon Alma's dislike of Elena starts trouble for the lovers. Things only get worse when the cruelty of a jilted suitor brings violence to the community the likes of which haven't been seen for fifty years.

After learning of Alma's abuse of her children, Julieta takes her family and leaves the family with Bruno. Outside of the strict expectations of Abuela Isabela's gift grows, creating new life, Luisa settles down with the love of her life, and Mirabel discovers that she has a gift as well.
Meanwhile, Alma Madrigal is losing control of not only her family but her village as well. She's determined to save them, and the only way forward is through Mirabel. She will do anything to get her back.
