Summary
“He looked at the careful way Whitaker had made the hospital bed, the folded protein bar wrapper that had fallen to the ground, the bag that probably contained the kid’s entire life, and something in him just… decided.
Maybe it was the exhaustion. Maybe the weight of too many losses in one day. Maybe the memory of Whitaker’s hands steadying him as he got back on his feet in Pedes.
“I have a spare room,” Robby said, before he could start talking himself out of it.”
In the aftermath of Pittfest, Robby discovers Whitaker living on an abandoned hospital floor and offers him a room. Turns out, living with your emotional support med student is significantly more complicated than one might expect.

He didn’t know much but he did understand there was a strain between Dennis and his family. He gathered they didn’t approve of him being a doctor and being away. Even now, after they drove nearly twenty hours straight, with nothing but air and bad music between them.

“You’re the new doctor, correct? From the medical office down the street? I'm Dennis, but most call me father, of course.”
Robby blinked, surprised. He hadn’t expected the priest to already know about his presence in the community, but it was a pretty small town. “Uh, yeah, that’s me. The name is Michael, Micheal Robinavitch.” he replied, stepping forward. “I’m...not really sure why I’m here, honestly. It’s kind of a long story.”
Dennis chuckled warmly, the sound light and easy on Robby's ears. “This place has a way of drawing people in, even if they don’t know why they’re here at first.”

Robby is fifty-four years old after PittFest and trying really hard not to come to terms with the fact that he is trans, even if it means destroying himself in the process. Jack is having none of it. He will love Robby no matter what, thank you very much.

She tried so hard, but the more she tried, the stronger he became. Now, she can’t look in a mirror without seeing him. It doesn’t matter what she is or isn't wearing, he is always there. Watching. Judging. Reminding her of everything she is doing wrong.
But at least, he was her secret. Not anymore though. She is certain Jack saw him. And she is certain this is the beginning of the end. Nothing will ever be the same.

Summary
It really had been stupid of Robby and Dennis to think they could hide their relationship at work. But their love was still new and too much was at stake, so secrecy was the only option. Unfortunately Robby was bad at keeping Dennis up to speed on who he needed to be careful around, and Dennis was far to oblivious not to accidentally let some things slip. So some secrets were bound to come out
This is a continuation of my story I Think I Love You, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone.
