Summary
Shizuku gives a breath of relief as she completes her latest adventure of Baron Humbert von Gikkingen and his Cat Bureau. Haru and Moon part ways with a newfound appreciation for the mundane peace of the everyday, and Shizuku, satisfied with the ending, sends the story off to a series of publishers. Surely they wouldn't all send back rejection letters... again.
Looking after the shop as Grandpa Nishi's health declines, Shizuku has taken up a search to see if anyone had ever come across the long lost other half to the carved cat doll, the fate of the artisan, or the woman Nishi loved. She would check back on the public forum inquiry but often times it simply slipped her mind that she put it out there, until an email indicated she had received a response.
The post gave her an email address where they could speak privately. They provided dates, locations in Germany, where the woman who owned the doll lived, and she could hardly catch her breath in the rush of buying a plane ticket to follow the lead. Could she give Nishi the closure he had longed for before it was too late?
--And what the hell was Moon doing all the way out here in Germany?!
