"I know, Victor," I whispered to him, responding to a name that wasn't mine. I was helpless; I wrapped him in all the blankets and furs I could find, but to no avail. All I could do was rub his emaciated hands with his long fingers, which must once have been constantly stained with ink. I longed for those better times, even though I didn't know them, and that only made me envy Clerval more. Some part of Victor would always remain inaccessible to me, I knew that, though I tried desperately to drown out the thought by imagining our future life together. I would invite him to Margaret's house and we would pick flowers in her garden together, eat at the same table, lend each other our favourite books. I would never be able to have what I wanted most, but Victor's presence alone would be enough...OR
Walton saves a stranger from freezing to death. Little does he know that this will change everything.

He need not have asked—Victor had made his decision as soon as he had learned of the captain’s condition.
Walton is indisposed, and Victor finds a way to repay the captain’s kindness.

Clerval, Elizabeth, and I - we launched from the swing and their wings brushed sunlight’s glare, then melted as we all fell to the water, one by one. I wish we could have kicked off the silt of the creek’s bottom and laughed our ways back to the light, yet the Icarian Sea is no shallow creek; all of us have drowned. It is my own recklessly impassioned ambition that catapulted my friends too close for salvation to a cruel inferno of a melting sun.
In an attempt to make Frankenstein feel better, Walton allows him to regale a light story from his and his companions’ youth. However, this particular memory possesses the adverse effect of sending an already unstable Frankenstein spiraling into grief, lamenting the angels he drowned.

Robert Walton, a ship captain and failed poet, met a dying man in the middle of the Arctic Circle, telling tales of a fantastic and horrible creature he was hunting for the betterment of humanity. Being somewhat knowledgeable in medicine, Robert helps to nurse the stranger, whom he now knows as Victor Frankenstein, back to health, and in return is allowed to put to paper the greatest story he has ever heard. Now that the stranger is gone forever, can he really believe what he said? When new information comes to light, can Robert come to terms with the difference between the man he knew and the one being presented to him?A rewriting/retelling of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein that explores the relationships (romantic, platonic, and familial) between classic and original characters, You Are No Prometheus attempts to bring subtext to life and explore the characters of Frankenstein.
