It didn’t begin on the stairs. It didn’t end on the stairs. After all, stairs are a fleeting place. Moving from one place to another, rarely a destination in their own right. It’s about the journey, not the destination. Right?

When John Dickinson left Congress, what if Thomas Jefferson chose to follow?
☾✧☾✧☾✧☾✧
“Gentlemen. I say Yea John Dickinson.”
John Adams’ voiced rang throughout the Congress hall.
John Dickinson pulled a weak smile, announcing that he chose to fight in America’s honour, before taking his leave out the large doors.

Summary
John Adams got off the floor - Dear God, couldn’t he just stay within the space for the Massachusetts delegation? - and started scurrying around the room, jumping up and down, getting red-faced, and shouting at Dickinson from Pennsylvania, the only delegate who would even pay attention to him at this point. Next to them, the old Franklin startled out of his sleep and nearly fell out of his chair. Hopkins of Rhode Island was already drunk, who had been boozing since morning. The never-speaking young man from the Virginia delegation at the window was staring into space again.
Hancock really wanted to lie down on the floor and play dead until the plenary adjourned before getting up.
Seriously, just send all these annoying people away!

Summary
"Monday, the 7th of December in the year of our Lord, 1789,"
Sitting in his study in Braintree, John Adams writes in his diary late at night when, out of nowhere, there's a knock on the door. A phantom from his past has come, but is it as he remembers it?
Aka, somewhere along the line in France, 1776's Jefferson became Hamilton's Jefferson.

Summary
Hancock
